Prosthesis Applications
Prosthesis applications are treatment methods that restore oral functions and aesthetics by replacing missing teeth. At Fimed Dental Clinic, we offer our patients the most suitable prosthesis solutions, ensuring they have a natural and healthy smile.
Prosthesis Types
Full Dentures:
Full dentures are used in cases where all teeth in the mouth are missing. Complete dentures placed on the upper and lower jaws mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth.
Partial (Partial) Dentures:
Partial dentures are used in cases where some teeth are missing. These dentures, which attach to natural teeth and replace missing teeth, also ensure that the remaining teeth in the mouth remain healthy.
Implant-Supported Dentures:
Implant-supported dentures are prostheses fixed on titanium implants placed in the jawbone. These prostheses provide the closest feeling and function to natural teeth.
Crowns and Bridges:
Crowns are coatings that strengthen and protect damaged or decayed teeth by covering them. Bridges are fixed prostheses that fill the gap by bonding them to the teeth on either side of the missing teeth.
Prosthesis Application Process
Examination and Planning:
Your dentist evaluates your oral and dental health and determines the most suitable prosthesis solution for you. At this stage, the jaw structure, the condition of the gums and the health of the existing teeth are taken into consideration.
Preparation and Measurement:
For the production of prostheses, measurements are taken from the mouth. These measurements are used in the laboratory to prepare personalized prostheses. In necessary cases, preparation procedures such as extraction of teeth or correction of the jawbone are performed.
Placement of Prostheses:
The prepared prostheses are placed in the mouth by your dentist and their suitability is checked. The necessary adjustments are made to ensure that the prostheses are comfortable and functional.
Checks and Maintenance:
Regular check-up appointments are scheduled after the placement of the prostheses. In these checks, the condition of the prostheses and oral health are evaluated. Proper care and hygiene are important for the longevity of dentures.
Denture Care
Daily Cleaning: Clean your dentures every day. Special denture cleaning solutions can be used for full and partial dentures. For implant-supported dentures and crowns, brushing and flossing are required.
Regular Check-ups: Schedule regular check-up appointments with your dentist. The fit of your dentures and the status of your oral health are monitored during these check-ups.
Careful Use: Use your dentures carefully to prevent them from falling or breaking. You can prevent breakage by placing a soft towel on the sink, especially when cleaning your full and partial dentures.
