Orthodontic Treatment
Orthodontic treatment is a treatment method applied for the purpose of correcting the teeth and jaw structure. Proper alignment of the teeth is important both aesthetically and functionally. At Fimed Dental Clinic, we provide orthodontic treatment services to our patients of all age groups, ensuring that they have healthy and straight teeth.

The Importance of Orthodontic Treatment

Aesthetic Appearance: Properly aligned teeth provide an aesthetically pleasing smile.
Oral Health: Proper alignment of the teeth facilitates dental hygiene and helps prevent problems such as cavities and gum disease.
Chewing and Speech Function: Properly aligned teeth ensure proper chewing and speech functions.
Jaw Health: Irregularities in the jaw structure can lead to problems such as headaches and jaw joint problems. Orthodontic treatment prevents such problems.
Orthodontic Treatment Process

Examination and Evaluation:

Your dentist evaluates the condition of your teeth and jaw structure. A detailed examination is performed using X-rays and other diagnostic tools. At this stage, a treatment plan is created.
Creating the Treatment Plan:

A personalized treatment plan is created according to the condition of your teeth and jaw structure. The duration of the treatment, the appliances to be used and other details are determined.
Placing the Appliances:

Different appliances can be used for orthodontic treatment. These include metal or ceramic brackets, transparent plates (Invisalign) and other orthodontic appliances. Which appliance will be used is determined according to the patient's needs and preferences.
Treatment Process and Regular Checkups:

Regular checkup appointments are scheduled after the appliances are placed. During these checkups, the progress of the treatment is monitored and necessary adjustments are made. The treatment period can usually vary between 1-3 years.
Post-Treatment and Protective Appliances:

After the treatment is completed, protective appliances (retainers) are used to maintain the new positions of the teeth. These appliances prevent the teeth from returning to their previous positions.
Types of Orthodontic Treatment

Metal Braces:

Traditional metal braces are the most commonly used orthodontic treatment method. They are durable and effective for all tooth alignment problems.
Ceramic Braces:

Ceramic braces work similarly to metal braces, but are less noticeable because they are tooth-colored. They are a good option for patients with aesthetic concerns.
Clear Aligners (Invisalign):

Clear aligners are a popular choice because they are removable and nearly invisible. They are effective for mild to moderate tooth alignment problems.
Lingual Braces:

Lingual braces are placed on the inside of the teeth and are invisible from the outside. They are suitable for patients with aesthetic concerns, but they are more complicated to apply and maintain.
Post-Orthodontic Care

Cleaning Your Appliances: If you wear brackets or plates, clean your teeth and appliances regularly.
Regular Checkups: Schedule regular checkups with your dentist and be sure to use your protective appliances after treatment.
Oral Hygiene: Brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day. Orthodontic appliances can increase plaque buildup, so it's important to take extra care with oral hygiene.
